Celebrity makeup artist shares melt-proof makeup secrets – AZFamily

Talk about the power of social media!

Eric Jimenez was born and raised here in the Valley of the Sun. Now, he’s living the dream in Los Angeles doing makeup for reality TV star Adrienne Maloof.

She’s currently in her third season of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

Jimenez has always been a fan of the show and Maloff. He decided to tweet her, saying he was ready to “rock her look.” After using the social media site to send three messages, Maloof tweeted back. She invited him to Los Angeles for a test and now he has a full-time gig!

Most days are long for any television star, but in reality television the cameras rarely stop rolling.

Jimenez said combine the hours of taping, the personal appearances, the photo shoots and those strolls along the red carpet, and he’s become an expert in long-wearing cosmetics.

On “Good Morning Arizona,” Jimenez was kind enough to share his insider secrets for melt-proof makeup — perfect for Arizona living. He is a huge fan of products by Benefit because he says they’re good for your skin and they won’t break your budget.

For a fresh and clean look, Jimenez recommends starting with Benefit’s Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm. This one offers SPF protection and a little goes a very long way.

To complement this, and for a subtle sun-kissed look (that’s safe), he recommends Benefit’s Too Faced Bronzer.

For lips and cheeks, Cha Cha Tint tops his list. Jimenez said it’s perfect for our dry summer climate here in the Valley.

Waterproof mascara is also a melt-proof must. Jimenez likes Benefit’s They’re Real. It’s a great option for those who enjoy wearing fake eyelashes, as well.

And finally, for a glamourous look or possibly a special event, Jimenez chooses Full Coverage foundation by MAC. This one is also waterproof. Full Coverage isn’t easy to find. Jimenez said it’s only available in MAC’s Pro stores in places like New York, Los Angeles and New York.
